Antivirus test

You will find below two common tests to evaluate your antivirus.

Eicar Test

The Eicar test will enable you to check that the module monitor of your antivirus is active. Click on the following bond: Eicar ; your antivirus must react (the file is inoffensive).

You can also test the module scanner of your antivirus. Eicar is a simple textual file containing the 68 following characters:

x5o!p%@ap[4\pzx54(p^)7cc)7}$EICAR-STANDARD-ANTIVIRUS-TEST-FILE!$H+H *

Create a file eicar.txt in the repertory of your choice, and copy-to stick this continuation of characters. Analyze the repertory which you chose with your antivirus; it must alert you.

Test Java applet

Java is a powerful programming language. It can be used to write a virus or a Trojan horse.

NoisyBear is a hostile Java applet classified: it posts a noisy bear which will refuse to keep silent itself as long as you will not close your navigator.

Click on the following bond: NoisyBear ; your antivirus must react (the applet is compressed and will not be carried out).
