Plantings
No software is free from bugs, the operating systems either. Certain
plantings can make the machine unusable,
or deteriorate data durably. To be secured to the maximum of plantings,
the precautions minimum to be taken can be:
- To use Linux rather than Windows (Linux is more reliable, more
stable). Mac draws some as better as Windows.
- To carry out regular safeguards of its data
- To treat its computer well (to avoid the inopportune
marche/arrêt for example)
- To divide its hard disk into at least two partitions (one for the
operating system, the other for the data)
- To always have under the hand the exhaustive description of the
material which contains the computer (graphics board, monitor, mother
chart...) as well as CD of installation and the
diskettes of restoration. In the event of serious problem, that
facilitates the start-up.
- To avoid doing too many experiments on a computer which contains
and milked important data.
