Sunbelt (formerly Kerio)

Kerio is a personal firewall developed by the American company Sunbelt. It makes it possible to protect the access to a computer by controlling connections between your machine and the network (local or Internet).

The installation is simple and fast, but Kerio requires to be well configured.

In the heading Seen, the Connexions mitre makes it possible to visualize connections in progress, and the Préférences mitre to import and export a configuration.

In the heading Safety of the network, the most important element is the Filtrage button of the Applications mitre: it gives access to the management of the rules which Kerio must observe.

In the heading Intrusions, activate the System of prevention of intrusions network (NIPS). You can also activate the behavioral blocking of the applications, if you do not have in addition a controller of integrity.

The heading Newspapers and alarms make it possible to visualize which rules were applied at the time of last connections.

Kerio can be downloaded here: Kerio.

Kerio is a very good firewall provided the rules of filtering are correctly selected. I propose this configuration of Kerio to you<.
